View of Shilton's island platforms seen from Church Road bridge with the down goods loop line in the foreground. The station facilities were rather limited with few passenger facilities on the platform other than the shelter seen above. The lack of a waiting room on the up line would indicate that the majority of passengers commencing journeys at Shilton were heading to Nuneaton rather than Rugby station. This was because passengers only require shelter whilst waiting for the arrival of trains. The signal arms on the left are short and have a circle placed mid way on the arm. This indicates to drivers of trains heading north on the down lines that these signals are only for traffic travelling on the down loop line.
