Shilton Station: lnwr_shil1111

LNWR 4-6-0 No 1084 'Shark', a Prince of Wales class locomotive, is seen at the head of the down 'Central Wales' express as it approaches Shilton station circa 1920-22. Built at Crewe works in January 1916 No 1084 was renumbered by the LMS as No 5656 in March 1926 and remained in service until August 1938 when it was withdrawn for scrapping at Crewe works.
