View of LMS 4-6-2 Coronation class No 6223 'Princess Alice' is seen in streamlined form at the head of the down Coronation Scot having just passed Shilton station circa 1937. Built at Crewe works in June 1937 No 6223 had its streamlining removed after the Second World War and remained in service until October 1963 when it was withdrawn from Polmadie shed in Glasgow to be scrapped during October 1963 at Crewe works.
