External view of Atherstone station showing the original Livock structure which was Elizabethan or Jacobean in style. Preston Hendry & Powell Hendry suggest in their book 'A Historical Survey of Selected LMS Stations' that the steeply pitched roofs of the station, tall patterned chimneys and alternate bands of patterned slates followed the Elizabethan manorial style. This view shows all of the chimneys still at their original height.
