Close up of image 'lnwr_ath1069' showing the replacement down platform built in the early 20th century when the line was quadrupled between Atherstone and Nuneaton. The Signal Cabin lasted until 11th November 1962; it had 40 levers, its replacement initially had 40 levers too which reduced in number over time before it closed on 20th July 1990. To the north was Baddesley Sidings Signal Cabin, which had 36 levers and was taken out of use on 11th November 1962. In the distance are wagons in sidings whilst on the right partially hidden behind the bush is a covered staircase from the passenger footbridge. This latter arrangement seems bizarre as neither the footbridge or the up platform's staircase were covered.
