Building the last Main Line Railway

The completed brick arch underbridge north of Staverton Road, Upper Shuckborough, Warwickshire. Photographed around 1897, this handsome structure was one of dozens of such occupation bridges on the Last Main Line, built to provide farmers with access to their land. This section of the Railway (Contract No.4, Rugby to Woodford) was constructed by T. Oliver & Son.
