Building the last Main Line Railway

Contractors locomotive "Frank" was an 0-6-0 saddle tank with only a weatherboard for the crews protection. This locomotive looks a more modern affair and the fitting of sprung buffers for railway wagons enhances this impression. These locomotives had to be able to cope with very indifferent trackwork as is evident by the trackwork seen above.
