Building the last Main Line Railway
Great Central Bridge and Viaduct: gcrcs141
Looking west at a girder span of the Great Central viaduct
that carried the GC's Main Line across the London & North Western Railway
at Rugby. Just visible through the haze is the unmistakable shape of the
L.N.W.R. station. To the right of the double-heading locomotives at the centre
of the picture is the company's engine shed. Part of a turntable can be seen on
the far left of the photograph.
