GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line
Yardley Wood Platform: gwryw528
This view looking towards Birmingham shows the once rural
area is now developed with large houses on the road behind the station. Of
interest is that the station sign reads 'Yardley Wood Platform' demonstrating
that GWR Platforms were not always basic station facilities. The original
bridge, a hump back bridge, has been replaced a steel girder bridge alongside
of which appears to be a services bridge for carrying water, drainage etc over
the railway.
