GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line

Looking towards Stratford Upon Avon. The station has changed very little in the fifty plus years since the line opened. One point of interest is the difference between the up and down platforms structures. Although there was a Booking Office and Waiting Room on the road, the GWR still provided additional facilities on the up platform resulting in a larger building than on the down platform.

The wider building resulted in a higher roof profile which led to the top of the canopy following the roof line. The down platform building, being smaller, had a canopy that projected out at rightangles to the wall. Note the oil lamps have been replaced by 'swan neck' electric lights on top of the original lamp posts.
