GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line

Wootton Wawen Platform: gwrww654

Looking towards Stratford upon Avon with the down platform on the left and Alcester Road over bridge behind circa 1910. The main building building on the left includes a booking office, general and ladies waiting room plus lavatories, the ladies being en-suite and the Gentlemens being at the far end. The buildings on both platforms are, as most others on the line, built using GWR's sectional building system which used asbestos (Eternit) in its construction. Clearly the GWR anticipated sufficient traffic to erect this larger structure and to provide platforms built in brick rather than timber framed platforms often found at locations classified as Platforms. The down building did not remain too long being replaced by a GWR Pagoda building within twenty years.
