GWR Route: Alcester to Hatton Junction
Wooten Wawen Platform: gwrww654
This postcard, received after the others in the Wooten Wawen
collection, appears to show the station in similar form to the other 1930s
views. However the larger unit on the left is in fact on the down line and not
the up as seen in all other photograpghs. The state of the 'station', as
described by the postcard although the sign does have 'Platform' in small
letters under the name, appears to be in very good and very clean condition
indicating the photograph was taken shortly after opening.
The structure on the down platform has three doors
indicating that it might have had a small booking office. It can only be
presumed that the traffic from the station didn't warrant the need for this
facility and being constructed of sectional units was dismantled at a later
date to replaced by the Pagoda structure.
