Ex-GWR 4-6-0 No 6870 'Bodicote Grange' is seen passing through the station with north bound freight. Note the timber sleepers used to retain the platform and the rail used at intermittent intervals to provide strength. 30th 8 64

Number 6870 was built at Swindon in March 1939 and was the 71st member of a class only commissioned some 31 months previously. It lasted in service until withdrawn in September 1965 from Wolverhampton Oxley shed and scrapped in January 1966 at J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
