Looking towards Birmingham across to the down platform with the bay at the far end . The old headshunt can be seen on the left of the photo being necessary to accommodate the cattle dock.

The heritage of the original broadguage track has resulted in a greater distance between the two standard guage tracks than the nominal six foot that was the norm on standard guage lines.
