GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

GWR 2-6-0 43xx class Mogul No 5362 carrying the head lamp code for a through train stands between duties in the Hatton Bank bay circa 1946. The platform on this side of the bay was not used by passenger services and therefore there were occassions when ash or clinker would be placed on the side during turns of duty. Number 5362 was built at Swindon works in February 1919 and remained in service until August 1958 when it was withdrawn from Shrewsbury shed to be scrapped in the same month at Swindon works.
