GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton
Warwick Station: gwrw369
GWR 2-8-0 No 2822 runs through Warwick station at the head
of an express goods train whilst GWR 2-6-0 43xx class No 5362 waits in the
Hatton banker's bay to provide assistance circa 1946. Number 2822 was built at
Swindon works in January 1907 and remained in service until January 1965 when
it was withdrawn from Barrow Road shed in Bristol and was scrapped in February
1965 by R Hayes of Bridgend. Number 5362 was also built at Swindon works but
twelve years in February 1919 lasting until August 1958 when it was withdrawn
from Shrewsbury shed being scrapped in August 1958 by Swindon works.
