GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

View of Southam and Harbury Station looking south towards Fenny Compton and London. The extra wide 'six foot' (the space between the two sets of tracks) provides the evidence that once this route was constructed to Brunel's seven foot broad gauge. A noticeable absence from the photograph was the passenger footbridge which was later installed as a safety measure. In this photograph passengers crossed by the barrow crossing, the timber boards of which can just be seen at the end of the platform. Circa 1910
