GWR 4-6-0 No 5031 'Totnes Castle' is seen passing the station on a down Paddington to Birkenhead express. The down outer home is in the 'off' position behind first carriage which was sited on the 'wrong' side. Totnes Castle a Stafford Road engine for many, many years. Number 5031 'Totnes Castle' was built at Swindon in May 1934 and remained in service until withdrawn from service in October 1963 from Oxley shed to be scrapped in May 1964 by G Cohen of Morriston. 5th Oct 1956
