GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line

GWR 4-4-0 No 3816 'County of Leicester' is seen on a Birmingham bound train shortly before being withdrawn. The locomtive is passing through the crossover from the up to the down line and has just passed the refuge siding that existed off the up line located the other side of the road bridge.

The notes state the tender on number 3816 was originally paired with the GWR's only pacific locomotive, the 'Great Bear'. Number 3816 was a member of the GWR's 38XX class being built at Swindon in December 1906 and withdrawn from Swindon shed in September 1931.
