Looking towards Birmingham. In this view the level of cleanliness indicates the photograph was taken shortly after the station's construction. The Victorian gallantry towards ladies resulted in the ladies being provided with their own waiting rooms as is evident by the the middle GWR sign on the up (left) platform.

The sign reads 'Ladies Waiting Room'. The ladies facilities were located next to the main Waiting Room and probably included the ladies toilet facilities too. The down (right) platform housed both the booking office as well as the 'Parcels and Cloak Room'. C1908
