Small sleeper-built platelayers' huts were provided at regular intervals along the line including Stretton-on-Fosse where the original PW hut was eventually joined by another larger unit as seen above. Messrs. Jenkins and Carpenter state that all of the line's PW huts would have conformed to the same basic design, but that in later years, when wind, rain, fires, and other eventualities had taken their toll, some of the huts were rebuilt.
