Another view of platform 2 showing the 'Gentlemen's' toilet as indicated by the sign on the right. There were no glazed windows just openings with slatted vents as can be seen and often with no ceiling just open below the station's main canopy. Its unknown whether the ladies toilets were as open to the elements as the Gents. As a boy Mike recalls using these facilities during freezing weather. The clouds of steam seen were not just from one's breathe!!! C1954
