Looking towards Honeybourne along the down platform whilst on the right is the up platform and its 1910 building which provided the passenger facilities. From right to left the facilities consisted of: gentlemen's toilets, ladies toilets, waiting rooms, refreshment room and an office for the district inspector. The very ornate lampposts on the left appear to be oil-gas lit and are thought to date from 1864 when the station opened. In the distance, on the down platform and in front of the footbridge, two large disc signals can be seen with one placed above the other. These signals are banner repeater signals and advised the driver of the position of the signal some two hundred yards ahead. They comprised a centre pivot signal with a white circular sighting board and were used where the conventional signal ahead might either be 'lost' in a background of clutter or other structures might interfere in viewing the signal.
