Another view of Stratford on Avon station from Alcester Road bridge looking northwards to Birmingham with the island platform on the left. The fields to the left of the station show little signs of development In the course of time this would be the site of the Ministry of Food's store opening on 20th July 1942. The track to the third platform, on the left of the island platform, is protected by catch points which are used to ensure that any rolling stock in the platform and which might have started to roll backwards to foul the main line is derailed to prevent an accident with any through train.
