GWR Route: Stratford Upon Avon to Hatton
Stratford upon Avon Shed: gwrsa496
Ex-LMS 0-6-0 4F class No 44353 bearing a 2E shed plate
stands at the GWR Shed for coaling and watering before going back to SMJ to
continue duties. Number 44353 was built in May 1927 by Kerr Stuart before being
withdrawn from Buxton shed in February 1965 and scrapped by T.W.Ward Ltd of
Killamarsh in May of the same year.
By this date the SMJ shed had closed compelling any
locomotive using the SMJ to South Wales via the Stratford to Honeybourne line
to make a detour to the GWR shed. 12th November 1960
