GWR 4-6-0 'Castle class' No 5063 'Earl Baldwin' is seen passing through Moreton-in-Marsh on the up Worcester to Paddington service

GWR 4-6-0 'Castle class' No 5063 'Earl Baldwin' is seen passing through Moreton-in-Marsh on the up Worcester to Paddington service on 6th October 1951. A member of the '4073' class, No 5063 was originally built by Swindon works as ' Thornbury Castle' in June 1937 but was renamed 'Earl Baldwin' the following month. The reason for the name changed was to recognise the Rt Honourable Earl Baldwin of Bewdley who was M.P for Bewdley and Prime Minister. No 5063 remained in service until February 1965 when it was withdrawn from Oxley shed in Wolverhampton to be scrapped in May 1965 by J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
