GWR Route: Stratford on Avon to Honeybourne

Milcote Station: gwrm486

View of the original 1859 station and Milcote Signal Box which was erected in 1891 some years prior to the doubling of the route

Looking towards Honeybourne. Whilst there were detailed differences to the styles of Long Marston and Milcote stations they did share the same basic layout configuration. The signal box was on the right of both stations, both were adjacent to the road, and both were built butting up to the station building. This is probably because the two station buildings were original, with the signal boxes being built within a year of each other, Milcote in 1891 and Long Marston in 1892. Note the lamp bracket on the corner of the signal box which is the same as Long Marston albeit without the lamp.
