GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Ex-GWR 4-6-0 Castle class No 5052 'Earl of Radnor' heads the up Cambrian Coast Express near Leamington in April 1959. The Cambrian Coast express ran from Aberystwyth to Paddington and was frequently hauled by a Castle class locomotive. Number 5052 was original named 'Eastnor Castle when first built at Swindon works in May 1936 and remained in service until September 1962 when it was withdrawn from St Philips shed near Bristol being scrapped immediately by J Cashmore of Newport.
