Close up of image 'gwrls868' showing the alterations to the old train shed which included a new canopy which sloped downwards to protect passengers from inclement weather. The addition of the sloping canopy made the interior of the platform building dark as can be seen above. The intermittent pattern on the canopy's roof is thought to be an architectural feature and not glazing. The bookstall was located adjacent to the booking hallway which led out directly on to the forecourt.
