GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton
Leamington Spa: gwrls867
Looking towards the rear of the main up platform with the up
bay in the foreground. The up platform when first built within the train shed
had its passenger facilities in the centre. Later developments including the
refreshment room were within the London portion of the platform. The original
platform would have a rear wall fixed the columns nearest the camera. The
sloping canopy which are a feature of the main up and down platforms was also
replicated for the bay. Why this platform was described as the 'bay' is unknown
as in the writers opinion a bay should have two sides and a set of buffers. 11
