This close up of image 'gwrls865' shows the ticket inspector's booth next to the exit to the staircase leading down to the subway. On the opposite side of the column is another ticket inspector's booth whilst to the windows to the rear provided natural lighting to the staircase. To the right of this second booth are train indicator fingerboards stored vertically in their box. This form of train information was common to all companies and lasted in general use until the early 1950s.
