This close up of image 'gwrls850' shows the change in pattern on the platform marking the point where the platform was extended from very soon after building. The extension to both ends of the down platform and the west end of the up platform was constructed later being in place by 1886 when a survey indicated their existence. The main platforms were constructed of timber framing with timber boarding laid parallel with the platform edge.
