GWR Dean 4-2-2 'Achilles' class No 3011 'Greyhound', an Oxford based locomotive at the time of this photograph, stands in the middle sidings with stock for a local train to Birmingham. John Copsey states that this class were "one of the most elegant classes of engines to have graced the lines through Leamington" and "were to be seen on some express services in the early 1900s".
