This close up of image 'gwrls837' shows a mineral goods train passing through the station on the goods loop which ran at the rear of the station. The passenger footbridge is supported on two columns but there is no sign of the 'steps which were also provided from this bridge down towards the up platform' as stated by John Copsey'. It is presumed that the extension and alterations to the passenger footbridge in later years removed this feature, probably at the time when the subway was extended through to the other side of the LNWR station.
