GWR '2301' class 0-6-0 No 2347 from Worcester is seen running along the goods loop to the east of station. The steel girder bridge seen behind the signal carried the railway over Lower Avenue. Number 2347 often described as a Dean Goods was built at Swindon in October 1884 and served the GWR for fifty-four years before being withdrawn from Swindon shed in April 1938 to be scrapped at Swindon Works. c1910
