GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

A general view of the shed in GWR days with a pair of GWR 2-6-2T Prairie tank locomotives standing in the yard. The original GWR timber shed burnt down in 1902 and was replaced by the one seen above in September 1906. At the time of reopening the shed had an allocation of thirty locomotives which by 1954 had fallen to a total of just nineteen.
