This close up of image 'gwrls239' shows the entrance to the subway leading to the main up and up excursion platforms. The view above is not too different to that first opened on 1st October 1852, the main difference being the more substantial canopy and the steps to the left of the subway entrance. The other major difference is the absence of the train shed although the original structure carrying the train shed roof still remains.
