Great Western heavy-weight 2-8-2T No 7226 stands in front of the coaling station. Number 7226 was a rebuild of a 42xx class carried out by Swindon works in November 1935 and lasted in service until withdrawn from Aberdare Shed in November 1964 to be scrapped in March 1965 by Dai Woodhams of Barry Docks. 4th Dec 1938
