This close up of image 'gwrls230' shows the "bridge" which projected from the coaling stage to over the locomotive's bunker or tender. In this view it can be seen that the original structure was smaller only having one narrow gauge tub track which was at a later date rebuilt to accommodate two to speed the coaling process. The sleigh like structure would lower in the manner of a drawbridge whilst the curved end was designed to hold the tub when it was up-ended allowing the coal to drop into the bunker or tender.
