This view shows the depth of excavation required to construct the forecourt in comparison to the level of the original structure. The nearest remaining part of the original structure to the camera housed the ladies waiting room and lavatories whilst behind it the refreshment room can be seen. As can be seen the original structure was was not very wide in comparison with with the remains of the train shed adjacent on the left.
