GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

GWR 0-6-0 'Dean goods' No 2465 on an up freight about to pass around the rear of the station via the goods loop. The signals are controlling the different up roads either through or around the station whilst a gas lit lamp has been positioned to aid engine crews to water the engines during the night circa 1938. Number 2465 was built at Swindon works to order 1467 in January 1896 and lasted in GWR service until withdrawn from Portmadoc shed in October 1940 when it was sold to the War Department for overseas service as WD 70179.
