Long Marston Station: gwrlm599a

This close up of image 'gwrlm599' shows what appears to be another GWR 'square tanked' 2-6-2T Prairie running bunker first on a short local passenger train consisting of four four or six-wheel coaches. In their excellent book 'Stratford Upon Avon to Cheltenham' Vic Mitchell and Keith Smith state that in 1920s Milcote, the next station along the line, had a staff of five. The above photograph would seem to indicate that Long Marston had at least the same number if not more as there appears to be at least six, possibly even seven, station staff posed for the photograph.
