GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Looking towards Birmingham from the down platform towards the main station building with a GWR Autotrain standing in the up platform. In the background is an unidentified GWR 0-6-0 locomotive standing in the up relief siding. To the right of the locomotive was the single siding goods yard which together with the up and down refuge sidings were added in 1888. Refuge sidings were required to move the much slower goods train out of the path of the much faster and time sensitive passenger train service.
