GWR 4-4-0 straight-framed Bulldog class No 3404 'Barbados' is seen at the head of a rake of close coupled six-wheel stock near Knowle and Dorridge in August 1925. Built with half-cone boiler at Swindon works in March 1904 as number 3466 it was fitted with a full-cone boiler in October 1906. For the first nine years of its life it underwent a number of changes of boiler type receiving a half-cone boiler in January 1908, a full-cone boiler with superheater in August 1910, a half-cone boiler in October 1911 and finally reverted back to a full-cone boiler in February 1913. It remained in service until September 1937 when it was withdrawn from Reading shed to be scrapped at Swindon works.
