In the distance the bridge crossing the line was made sufficiently wide enough to accommodate the head shunts for the sidings that lay on either side of the main line. The hanging basket, which was suspended from the balcony, has a tube attached to the chain to water the basket thereby demonstrating that our Edwardian forefathers were well advanced in providing automated irrigation systems.
