GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

The new Top shed's canopy projected over the cartage deck
(no 1 platform) to provide protection from inclement weather. Whilst
principally used for access to the shed by road vehicles, a mix of motor
lorries and some horse-drawn wagons, there was also a track laid along side the
deck. The hut in the fore ground is now used by the GWR as a gateman's lodge
having been obtained from the contractors who had used when they built the new
Top shed. The Lorry standing adjacent to the brick building is being weighed on
the north entrance weighbridge. C1940
