GWR stations and trains

This close up of image 'gwrhd727' shows one of the regular 0-6-0PT locomotives that worked the yard. Frank Popplewell records that in the late "1930s there were three '57XX' class 0-6-0PTs from Tyseley employed in the yard each day. The first worked a 24 hour duty from 5.15 am, the second an 18 hour day from 6.00 am, and the third worked an eight hour shift starting at 2.00 pm. They worked both the yard and shunted the wagons to and from the 'Round' Yard' as no trains stopped there to pick up or to set down". 2nd May 1939
