This view within Top shed clearly shows the planking provided to safely gain access by porters barrow into the box vans. The buffers or "stop blocks" were just substantial pieces of timber. Whilst GWR traffic would primarily be via GWR wagons exchange goods and the common user policy meant vehicles from other companies would also be seen, as evident by the LNER box van. 2nd November 1939
