This close up of image 'gwrhd692' shows how the station was aligned to curve in parallel with the main line. The main station platform was an island and appears from this photograph to be the principal stopping place for trains in either direction. The platform on the left provided access to the "Round" yard as is evident by the pathway at the end of the platform nearest to the camera.
