GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Close up of image 'gwrhd683' showing how Hockley's Top shed was still being operated whilst the area was being substantially rebuilt. As can be seen on the left, the shed was being erected using fixed rather than crawler cranes. Temporary lines were also being used by the contractor in addition to new roads being laid in front of and within the shed. The wagons seen are mainly wagons deployed on revenue service although the three open wagons on the left appear to be being used by the contractor. Behind these wagons are box vans being used by the GWR with the platform to the right containing goods etc.
