Looking towards Soho and on to Wolverhampton, this close up of image 'gwrhd683' shows the station on the right with the sidings obscuring the main line, located to the station's left. The shunting spur, which Frank Popplewell described in his article in the GWR Railway Journal as going nearly all the way to Soho, is occupied by a train of box vans.
