GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Looking towards Snow Hill from the Birmingham end of the island platform showing the water crane and fogman's hut. The girders running in parallel with the tracks and seen at intervals in between each track are part of the bridge carrying the railway over Icknield Street. This is an earlier photograph than seen in image 'gwrhd110a' as indicated by the signal gantry, this one being made of timber posts and using decorative supporting ironwork whereas the other is a later item being made of a metal round post. In the view above all signal arms are pointing the right.
